Our friends, family and Bayou fans – YOU have done it! Your generous donations have made our Bayou Kickstarter drive a huge success, above and beyond our expectations. Those of you who are getting rewards for your contribution will be hearing more from us in the coming weeks.

Beyond your monetary support, the enthusiasm that you’ve shown and that has been building about the Bayou film, is really exciting. It’s further evidence that lots of people really care about the legacy of the DC music scene, local history & lore. We are invigorated by your efforts & enthusiasm and re-dedicated to producing a lively, rockin’ and meaningful film.

As our production budget needs grow, we continue to welcome donations of any amount made to our fiscal sponsor, The International Documentary Association (IDA). Thanks to those of you who have already written generous checks. More information – http://tinyurl.com/bayoufilm

Thanks again for your generous and enthusiastic support of our film. We started this effort as the club closed in 1998 and we are eager for all Bayou fans to see the film air later this year.

March 19 — St. Patrick’s Day weekend put us closer to the pot o’ gold following a flurry of contributions from many generous hands. We thank our lucky charms, and remain truly grateful to all who’ve donated.

This week’s news: Today, The Washington Post published a short blurb on the documentary and ran a sharp photo of The Bayou in its Capital Business section http://www.washingtonpost.com/business/capitalbusiness/regions-tech-names-got-big-play-in-austin/2012/03/15/gIQAoXpeLS_story.html

In addition, a Voice of America video team is on its way to film us for a segment on the story behind the project — further updates to follow. If you can’t wait to watch it, or if your ham radio is on the fritz, airfares to Bulgaria are seasonally reasonable.

Our Kickstarter campaign expires a week from Saturday (March 31). Again, we appreciate the help, and ask that everyone reach out to other potential contributors.
