Our daughter and her band played at the Bayou......The band was named Sabadical and I believe they performed either in the late 80's or early 90's.......They were a Heavy Metal band, and Stacy was the lead singer.........they did originals and covers......It was exciting for us to see her perform.....Before she was born we used to go to the Bayou with friends........Amazing that you are doing this documentary....I can't wait to see it.......

Worked at The Bayou in the 90's. I'm looking for some photos from that time. Most are of metal bands and glam bands. I have a lot of great stories from that tome to.

I worked there from 1976 - 1978, many great memory's :)

I have some pic's and found a bayou shirt that we started to wear in 78 so people could tell who the bouncers were ;)

One memory was the return of Root Boy Slim and the Sex Change Band with the Rootettes , 3,000 people in the street and at the old factory.

thanks for doing this documentary, after many years I went back down to K Street and it's totally different now ... :(
I can donte the Bayou shirt if you want it?

I have Kodachrome super 8 footage of the intersection of Wisconsin and M shot in summer 1973- from the roof of one of the corner buildings. I can direct you to someone who photographed NRBQ at the Bayou in the 1980's. There are a few lp's with photos of the old Cellar Door (the first Walter Egan album, and one of the Seldom Scene lp's, for example). I have one of the stools from the Cellar Door stage that the artists used to use. I may even have access to the building in its present state.

I played there many times with my band Goin' Goin' Gone. Lots of great memories.
A few are
1. Opening for Dr John and watching him rehearse members of the Nighthawks who were his backing band.
2. First time we played there opening for Johnny Winter and I had to grab my leg and steady it. It was shaking cause I was so nervous.
3. When we opened making sure our sets were exactly as long as our time alloted. We would cut the last song off if we had to. We did not dare go over our alloted time.
4. Being taken in the back of the stage and up a stairway and being shown the speakeasy that existed way back when.
5. On a bitter cold winter day coming for the sound check and seeing all the waitresses and the entire Bayou staff shivering outside. I thought there had been a fire or something. But...Aimee Man was playing and she made everybody go outside rather than let them hear her soundcheck. Never played with a more miserable person and it is no wonder her career has gone nowhere despite her talent.

I am a researcher who worked for the AP, New York Times and CNN. Let me know if you need any advice on that.

Can't wait to see it. I still miss that place.

Wow! It certainly brings it all back! The memories this provides took me back in time when I played there with High Roller and The Marbles. I imagine most of the local musicians would love to take this time travel experience!

Wonderful documentary! Thank you!
